Medical College, Mysore
JSS Medical College, Mysore, was instituted in the year
1984-85 and is imparting education in medical sciences (MBBS) course.
The institute has now become a constituent college of JSS University
established under Section-3 of UGC Act from 28-05-2008.
The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India
and was belongs to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka,
Bangalore from 1995-1996.
The students of this college are from all corners of
India as well from abroad. The college is also recognized by The General
Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. Post-graduate courses in
various faculties, Ph.D. and Para Medical Courses have also been started.
The college since its inception in 1984 – is dedicated to
serving society as a center of excellence with emphasis on socially meaningful
medical education, research and health care.
The college has emerged as a pioneer in the state of
Karnataka by providing medical and health care programs through
internationalization, innovation in academic and research studies. The college
offers undergraduate course in medicine (M.B.B.S) and postgraduate degree
(M.D/M.S) and diploma programs in 20 medical disciplines. The sanctioned annual
intake to the M.B.B.S program is 200.

Admission Details:
Eligibility for the courses
(Degree and Diploma)
- A
candidate with the following criteria is eligible for admission:
- Who has
passed his/her MBBS examination after pursuing a degree in a Medical
College, recognized by the Medical Council of India,
- With the
completion of one year compulsory rotating internship in a teaching
institution or other institutions recognized by the Medical Council of
India and
- Who has
obtained a permanent registration of any State Medical Council?
Eligibility for the MD/MS Courses:
- The
candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS, BDS
examinations from the college recognized by Medical Council/Dental Council
of India, and should have completed internship on or before 31st April in
the Admission year.
- As per the
regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post-Graduate regulations
2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the
entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post-Graduate courses shall
be 50 % for all candidates and for SC, ST, category-I & OBC the
eligibility will be 40%.
- Foreign /
PIO / NRI students need not appear for JSSU PGET. Their admission will be
based on qualifying examination marks.
Admission in JSS Medical College Mysore:
Candidates should have passed 12th standard and should have
obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together)
and should have passed English as one of the subjects. The candidates should
have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December of the year of
admission. Selection is through COMED-K and CET.
