Method of Selection

The examination shall be conducted in English medium only
On-Line Based Distributed Object System of Examination
Computer Based Test / online examination will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the concerned specialty and related fields
There shall be only one paper of 90 minutes duration consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. All questions will be of one best /correct response type having four alternatives
More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and negative mark will be given
Each answer with correct response shall be awarded Four Marks
Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered
Negative marks will be given for incorrect response; for every incorrect response, ONE mark will be deducted
The response of the candidate for a question(s), on click of “submit button” before closing of Examination shall be considered as the response chosen by the candidate or in other words, “If a question is answered and marked for review, your answer for that question will be considered in the evaluation”
For DM Course: The Computer Based Test (CBT) / Online Exam will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields; the duration of the exam will be 1½ hours
For M.Ch Course: The Computer Based Test (CBT) /Online Exam will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields; the duration of the exam will be 1½ hours
Questions that are answered and “Marked for Review” will be considered as Answered
Minimum cut-off shall be 50th percentile for admission

The Prospectus and Instructions can be downloaded from the JIPMER Website (www.jipmer.edu.in)
Mode of Payment: Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card only. Online Application User Interface provided in the Annexure-II
Fees once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances; candidate need not be sent hard copy of the application to this office

Availability of Application Form

i. Candidates seeking admission to entrance examination are required to apply online only
ii. Log on to link in the Home page www.jipmer.edu.in and navigate to the link "Apply on-line D.M./M.Ch./F.S admission - July 2015 Session"
iii. Read the Prospectus and Instruction carefully
iv. The flow chart for filling application on-line given as Appendix in the Prospectus
v. The candidate should acquaint himself / herself with all requirements with regard to filling up the application on-line
vi. Mode of payments are a) Net Banking, b) Credit Card, c) Debit Card

Hall Tickets

Hall Tickets for the Entrance Examination shall be available for download to candidates whose applications are complete in all respects, from 10th June 2015 (Wednesday, 11.00 am) to 21st June 2015 (Sunday, 08.00 am)
The hall ticket will contain name and date of birth as typed by the candidate in the application, photo and signature image as uploaded by the candidate; Examination City allotted and roll number
Request for rectification / change of any other details in the hall ticket details shall NOT be considered under any circumstances
No candidate will be allowed to appear for the Entrance Exam unless he/she hold the Hall ticket from the website of JIPMER; the candidates are advised to preserve their hall ticket, which is mandatory for admission/Counseling

Entrance Exam (Cities)

a) Applicant can opt only for Three Exam Cities
b) The allotment of Exam City would be as per the order of preference given by the candidate, the number of applicants for that city and availability of on-line nodes at the time of his/her logging for applying
Exam Cities: Ambala, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Mumbai, New Delhi, Puducherry, Ranchi, Sonipat, Trivandrum & Vijayawada

Fee Structure

The following fees (provisional, subject to revision) will be payable by each candidate at the time of admission:

i. Admission Fee (One-time payment) - Rs.3000/-
ii. Academic Fee (Annual) - Rs.2100/-
iii. Learning Resource Fee (One-time payment)
a. DM/M.Ch Courses - Rs.15000/-
