M.D. Cardiology - Stands for Doctor of Medicine in Cardiology. Typically an MS degree is for 3 years, minimum eligibility for which is a degree in M.B.B.S. Subjects usually studied under this degree are Cardiovascular Anatomy, Cardiovascular Physiology, Cardiovascular Biochemistry, Cardiovascular Pathology, Cardiovascular Microbiology, Cardiovascular Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Immunology, Coronary Artery Disease, Rheumatic Heart Disease, Congenital Heart Disease, Pediatric Cardiac Disorders, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, Peripheral Vascular Disorders, Systemic Hypertension, Systemic Diseases, Heart Muscle Diseases, Pericardial Diseases, Cardiac Trauma, Tumors of Heart, Pulmonary Thromboembolism, Pulmonary Hypertension, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Geriatric Heart Disease, General Anesthesia etc.

When a student completes a certain course in cardiology,  he becomes eligible to become a cardiologist.
